Fifth - Tea Time and Presents

The tables were set. . . 14 places for fourteen beautiful young ladies.

Pouring the tea. . .

Led by Miss Elise Hamacher, these ladies sang Abby the most beautiful Happy Birthday song I have ever heard. Their voices blended to create a melody that was heavenly to say the least. It was my favorite part of the evening. :)

Zeke. . . some things don't change. ;)

Isaac, age 2

When we first moved to Missouri, and before Isaac was able to talk, he would "preach". He'd find a book, get onto a step stool, and jabber on and on, very animatedly, but without any distinct words. :) It was quite cute.

I believe this was a school project. :) Christmas 2004

October Cookies

A wonderful recipe I was inspired to make as I was procrastinating on homework this morning! And the inspiration goes on as I continue to put off the homework in order to share it with all of you. :)

Carrot Cake Cookies

1 pkg. Carrot Cake Mix
1/3 c. Butter or Margarine, melted
1/8 c. Water
1 Egg
1/2 pkg. Miniature Chocolate Chips*

In mixing bowl, combine cake mix, egg, butter, and water. Stir until well mixed, then add the chocolate chips. Drop onto greased cookie sheets and bake at 375 degrees until done, 10-12 minutes. Makes 2 dozen.

*Now for my fellow chocolate despisers (c'mon, there's gotta be someone else out there who doesn't like chocolate. . .), the chocolate chips are optional, and can be replaced with raisins (bleck!) or nuts.

Enjoy the taste of Fall!

Misplaced Modifiers. . .

Those of you who frequent my blog may have noticed that I changed up my "a few favorites" list a bit. Well, for about a day, one of the items said "dreaming about my future with Ashley". Just now, I was reading over the list and realized how funny that sounded. Today in English Comp, we discussed misplaced modifiers. (If you are not aware of what these are, ask your mother. If you are a mother and do not know. . . Google it.) So for those wondering . . . No, Ashley and I are not planning a life of spinster-hood together. It is not our futures which are "with" each other, but the dreaming about them. The modifier has been placed correctly now and I ask that you would forgive me, Ms. Kolb. :)

Jesus Paid it All

I hear the Savior say,
“Thy strength indeed is small;
Child of weakness, watch and pray,
Find in Me thine all in all."

Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow.

For nothing good have I
Whereby Thy grace to claim;
I’ll wash my garments white
In the blood of Calv’ry’s Lamb.

Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow.

And now complete in Him,
My robe, His righteousness,
Close sheltered ’neath His side,
I am divinely blest.

Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow.

Lord, now indeed I find
Thy pow’r, and Thine alone,
Can change the leper’s spots
And melt the heart of stone.

Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow.

When from my dying bed
My ransomed soul shall rise,
“Jesus died my soul to save,”
Shall rend the vaulted skies.

Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow.

And when before the throne
I stand in Him complete,
I’ll lay my trophies down,
All down at Jesus’ feet.

"For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. "
